Uniroyal® Tire Becomes Official Tire of the PBA Tour SEATTLE, WA & GREENVILLE, SC (November 11, 2003) — The Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) has signed a two-year exclusive deal with Uniroyal® Tire for sponsorship of the PBA Tour. Uniroyal will be the "Official Tire of the PBA Tour." The new agreement provides tournament entitlement of the PBA Uniroyal Classic, set for March 3-7 in Indianapolis, IN. "The PBA Tour and Uniroyal Tire are a great fit," said Steve Miller, PBA President and CEO. "Uniroyal is recognized as one of the leading manufacturers of tires in the world. This agreement will provide Uniroyal another means to reach out and provide information on their excellent products." Uniroyal Tire will sponsor three PBA Tour players on their Team Championship roster. That team will have a season-long competition with other sponsor teams and vie for a $100,000 championship. The Uniroyal Tire team includes Michael Haugen Jr., Brian Kretzer and Tony Reyes. "We are proud to join the PBA as 'Official Tire of the PBA Tour'," said Tim Jamison, Uniroyal Tire brand director. "This is the perfect opportunity to sponsor a great sport and reach a key target audience for our brand." The 2003-2004 PBA season began on October 8. During 2002, television ratings of PBA events grew 6 percent on ESPN. Membership increased 20 percent and tournament entries increased more than 35 percent.
