PBA Uniroyal® Tire Classic Set To Strike in Wickliffe, OH Stop Marks First PBA Tour Event In Cleveland Area Since 1996 Cleveland, OH (November 3, 2004) — The PBA Uniroyal® Tire Classic is rolling through Cleveland, Ohio, Nov. 10-14, at Freeway Lanes of Wickliffe marking the third event on the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) 2004 schedule. This is the second consecutive season that Uniroyal Tire has teamed with the PBA to sponsor this nationally televised tournament. More than 64 bowlers comprise the field competing for a total purse of $230,000. On Sun., Nov. 14, the final four bowlers will battle for the title during a live ESPN national telecast, which starts at 1 p.m. ET. "We are proud to be in this great sports town of Cleveland for what we hope will be an exciting tournament," said Tim Jamison, Uniroyal Tire brand director. "Sponsoring the PBA is a great opportunity for us to reach our consumers via live television." To further support the event, Uniroyal held a sweepstakes promotion in Cleveland-area Conrad's stores Sept. 27 through Oct. 22, to award four pro-am spots. The winners will be announced before the PBA Uniroyal® Tire Classic and will have the opportunity to get up close and play with the pros during the pro-am event, Sat. Nov. 13. Winners will also receive a PBA bowling ball, bowling shoes, Uniroyal bowling shirt and a Uniroyal bowling towel. In addition to the title sponsorship, the PBA Uniroyal® Tire Classic will also highlight Uniroyal's team of bowlers, who are competing with other sponsor teams for the PBA Tour Team Championship.
