Uniroyal® Tire And Tire Kingdom Announce Fourth Straight Copa Latina Sponsorship

Activities Include Half-Time Contests, Giveaways

Miami, FL (February 17, 2006) — Uniroyal® Tire and Tire Kingdom announced today that they will continue their major sponsorship of the Copa Latina in 2006, the fourth straight year of their involvement. As part of the sponsorship, the two tire companies will participate in the opening ceremonies, as well as host half-time contests throughout the tournament. They will also offer Copa attendees the chance to win free sets of Uniroyal® tires.

Copa Latina, one of the nation's most exciting and unique adult soccer tournaments, is often described as a mini World Cup. The four-weekend tournament features competition among 32 adult soccer teams, selected from the area's elite, multi-cultural leagues. Teams represent various ethnic groups from South Florida's Hispanic community. Copa Latina kicks off at Ted Hendricks Stadium in Hialeah on Friday, Feb. 10, and runs through Sunday, March 5.

In addition to Copa Latina, Uniroyal® Tire and Tire Kingdom have teamed up to contribute more than $350,000 in funds and equipment to youth soccer and other local programs for Hispanic youth over the past six years. The tire companies plan to continue their support in 2006 through the Uniroyal Soccer Program, a national initiative that donates equipment and raises funds for youth soccer programs across the country, including 35 youth leagues in South Florida.
